The Committee's main
responsibilities:
Missionary Programs of Central Florida Presbytery Halifax Urban
Ministries
Duvall Home
Thornwell Home & School for Children.
The congregation is to be thanked for theIr unfailing support, both
financial and as volunteer workers.
The Halifax Food Distribution Center in Port Orange is manned by
volunteers who work from 9am until 11:30, and can select to help out on
Monday, Wednesday or Friday. For additional information call Flo DePrato,
322-9755.
There is always a need for food. Items needed the most are: spaghetti,
spaghetti sauce, dry cereal, peanut butter, hamburger helper type meals,
rice ( one pound bags), canned soup, dry milk, baked beans, and tuna.
Thanks for a generous gift form Jeff Evans State Farm Insurance, we were
able to deliver $500 worth of food to the Homeless Assistance Shelter.
Every second Thursday of the month, WBTS has the responsibility of
serving at the Homeless Assistance Shelter. Faye Murray and her
volunteers put in many hours of donated time to this worthy cause. The
people who have been helping out there are:
Alexis and Tony Fortune, Katherine Truswell, Lue Law, Marcie Smurr,
Joanne Hostetler, Betty Vasbinder, Nancy Force, Rod Underwood, John
Ingmand, Ralph V osdingh, Barb and Cal Sawyer, Sue Infantino, Bob Ewen,
Diane Olmstead, Rose Kushigian, Barb and Herman Page, Patti Ford, Jimmie
Bounds, Betty and Don Cunningham, Glenna and George Corbiere.
We continue our commitment to the DuVall Presbyterian Home. David and
Frankie Hughes have been appointed to the Visitors Board of Thornwell
Home.
