Westminster
By-The-Sea is a congregation that has grown steadily from 287 to
720 members in the last 20 years. A New England style,
steepled building houses a congregation known for its welcoming,
friendly spirit-filled atmosphere with 2 traditional services on
Sunday. There are Sunday School opportunities for all
grades and adults and a top-notch nursery program for our
preschoolers. An annual highlight is our VBS program that
welcomes all children from the community. Midweek there
are 3 Disciple classes plus a Bible study. Our doors have
been opened to AA, GA and other community organizations.
There are monthly women's circles plus a men's breakfast with
inspirational speakers. We have a MOPS program and a
softball team to appeal to our younger families. Our youth
group (middle/high school) meets regularly with different
activities including a mission trip each summer. Our
outstanding music program includes the chancel choir and
handbells. We host a Fine Arts Series which includes
concerts on our pipe organ and grand piano. Members with
like talents teach or lead such things as music, bridge, golf,
scrapbooks, and exercise. Congregational life is most
active in remembering shut-ins, visitation, food for memorial
services and other gatherings. We feel the whole person is
important and hold "Body, Mind, and Soul" seminars on health
topics and actively support the Presbyterian Counseling Center.
We participate in local, national, and international mission.
